I bought the 1911 a wile back because I just love the weight and feel
of the solid steel .45. The Charles Daly 1911 45 ACP had just come out
at the time. It was moderately priced and the reviews were not too bad
on it. Sure the Kimber folk were talking their trash. And the Colt
people have nothing good to say but those of us who aren’t into the idea
of dropping $1200+ on what amounts to a weekend toy found it to be very
adequate for the price.
I can honestly say I have no complaints or regrets. Ive
had the chance now to shoot both a tricked out Kimber and a WWII era
Colt original. Both were noticeable nicer than the Charles Daly 1911.
But to me not $800 to $1800 nicer. I have had much fun tweeking and
adding to the Charles Daly 1911. That was one of the reasons I wanted a
1911 in the first place.
Lets face it the 1911 is basically the “generic” gun.
There have been so many made by so many manufacturers in countless
countries that its probably impossible to count how many are actually
out there. Most of the various parts and accessories out there are
interchangeable from one brand/model to another and because there are so
many of them out there the manufacturers have no end of accessories
available.
One Im still wanting to get is the
MechTech Carbine
Conversion Unit. Check it out its really fun looking. Probably
useless but still...
BOUGHT IT !!!
